Hello to all our dear family and friends!!
Our week has been not very eventful, but it was still a good week!!! We are all doing well and staying healthy!!
So last Saturday night the team went to Brent's host family's house for a grill party. I will say...I was not to disappointed by the invitation!! I really enjoyed talking in German and laughing with his family! My stomach hurt from laughing!! Brent's host dad told us, "first one I hear speaking in English, has to sing a song". funny thing was, we were allowed to sing in English!! I am very thankful that God put Brent in such a fun family, that he can enjoy.
Eric and Val took their "weekend" away from Sunday to Tuesday. So while they were gone, Monday we had check-ins with each other in the morning and in the afternoon we had relational time. Instead of spending time with people, I had a prayer time with God. While I
was praying I painted pictures. I am painting once again!! It was a really good time for me!
Wednesday, our whole team helped Andi move. Andi was our assistant pastor at Soli Deo, is a close friend to Eric, and a dear friend to the team. It took us a half hour to pack all his stuff in the back of a truck. Andi had made it really easy for us! It was the easiest move out of the seven moves we have helped with.
Today Brent, Shaina and I went along with Lukas to the Zoo, Burg Geibichenstein(the Halle Castle), and on a boat tour. It was so much fun!!! I saw so many animals at the zoo that I wanted to bring back with me!! I just don't think the elephant will fit in my suit case!! I am tired from all the bike riding and walking we did! It was a lot of fun!!!
Now, the best for last!!!!!!!! It is something really exciting and I get a big smile on my face just thinking about it!!!!!!! On May the 13th, during the church service, my dear host mom, Ines, became a Christian!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Can you tell I am really excited about this? I had been praying for that for a long time. Before I even came to Germany I was praying for her!! And now my prayer is answered!!!!

CORRECTION: Eric's spinal cord was not damaged. His back just was not in place, which caused him a bit of pain.

Praises!!!
-My host mom!!!!!
-Eric's back is doing better!!!
-Our time here has been benefical - even if we can not see it
Prayer requests!
-Eric's back would continue to get better
-That our next seven weeks(last weeks) will be finished out strong!
-Team unity
-Our relationships with other people would be strong
-Our relationship with God will be strengthened.
This is all for this week! Thank you all for your prayers!!

This is was the week! Thank you for all your prayers and support!!! God bless you all as you go about your week!!
much love,
-Janae

Letter # 25

Hello YES Team Families, Friends, and Supporters!

Sorry that this letter is coming to you a day late. This has been a week unlike any other week, and I just wasn't able to write this on Saturday. Eric and I have good friends, Jason and Danae Wenger, who are missionaries in the Czech Republic and they were able to come visit us for a couple days. Yesterday the four of us went to Berlin. We left early and came home late. We had a great time of reconnecting and encouraging one another in our journeys on being on the mission field.

This week I've been struck by how incredible the family of God really is. From Tuesday until Thursday our team was split up. Shaina and Jen stayed here in Halle and enjoyed spending time with their friends here. Brent went down south to visit some friends of his grandfather, and Janae traveled west to visit a family that her American family had known years ago. Eric and I were able to travel with Miriam (outreach coordinator) and another American, David, to visit friends, Daniel and Irene Kort, near Cologne. The first evening we spent time talking and reminiscing about how we all met. Daniel was my STAT team leader 10 years ago, he was Miriam's YES team leader 8 years ago to Atlanta (where he met David), and he was Eric's assistant director when Eric served on staff at HDC seven years ago. It was really amazing to me how God intertwined all of our lives. Even though we are from different continents, it doesn't matter when we are part of the same family. I have brothers and sisters all over the world. Most I have never met, but we all have one thing in common---Jesus. Jesus is the only reason that we all got together this past week. He is what ties us all together. It's just amazing to think that I'm part of something so big.

Praises:
-being part of the family of God
-safety for all the traveling

Prayer Requests:
-we leave Halle 2 months from today--pray that we will not only finish, but finish well
-Daniel and Irene are planning to leave Germany and move to Sri Lanka as missionaries in January. They have one daughter Jocelyn who is one and they are expecting a son in July. Pray for God's wisdom as they plan to leave and also that their financial needs can be raised.
-Jason and Danae Wenger as they serve in the Czech Republic
-good team relationships

For the Germany Team,
Valerie

Germany YES Team Letter #24
Team Blogspot: www.germanyyes06.blogspot.com

Greetings in Jesus' Name. This last week has been a very good week. Last night our team rode on the tram dressed as cars. We went to Miriam Weaver's "Cars" themed birthday party. Miriam and her husband Darrel are our outreach coordinators. It was a lot of fun to ride on the tram and walk down the street with our special outfits. We were joining in Brent's normal winter ministry, of bringing smiles to peoples faces. He always wore shorts in the winter. This always brought smiles to the faces of those who saw him. So, we were just carrying on his normal ministry. For those of you that have seen the movie, I was dressed as Fillmore, the VW van. I was wearing my wife's bedsheet, hippie sunglasses, and a giant VW necklace. Needless to say, we had a lot of fun. Hopefully

May 1 was a German holiday, so we spent the afternoon with our church family. We met up at the chuch and walked down to a large island on the Saale River. We had a great time eating and playing together. Naturally we had bratwurst and steaks on the grill. The rest was kind of like a pot-luck dinner. We also had the fun experience of playing frisbee, soccer, and even throwing football in knee-high grass. Steve (the pastor) told me that they mow that section maybe once a year. Thank you for praying for Val and I as we are teaching. We are really enjoying the friendships that have been built. Pray that we would be able to seize the opportunities that God gives us to share about Him.

In Christ, Eric

Praises:
- good health for the team
- team unity

Prayer Requests:
- That we would all grow closer to Christ and to each other.
- That we would give our all in the last two months that we are here.
- Safety as the team is traveling to different places next week.
